Aqua Amigos Scuba Club  FAQ

Q     How old is the Aqua Amigos Scuba Club?
A     The Club was formed on December 8th, 1958, making us over 50 years old.

Q     Was the club always called the Aqua Amigos Scuba Club?
A     NO when the founders originally though of a name, it was to be the Aqua Amigos Frogmen,
but that was soon changed to the name we all know and love.

Q     Can I attend a meeting to check out the club and if so, when and where?
A     YES guests are always welcome to attend any of our meetings. You cannot vote on issues, but you are encouraged
to come meet everyone. Meetings are held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 8:00pm at the
YMCA (631 Babbit Road, Euclid, OH).

Q     Does the club do any dives other than what is on the schedule?
A     YES if it is not on the official club schedule it may be due to the complexity of the trip or difficulty of the diving.
These trips are usually small in number and led by individual members as to ensure the safety of all divers involved.
(Examples of such trips would be any including overhead environment, or where mixed gases or staged decompression
           may be needed).

Q     What types of classes does the club offer?
A     We have instructors that conduct classes ranging from open-water, to your more advanced or specialty classes and
even teaching level certifications. We also offer other courses such as CPR, Marine-life accidents, etc. for those who
          may be interested.

Q     Can I join the club even if I am not a YMCA certified diver?
A     YES we are comprised of many different organizations of divers, even though we teach YMCA scuba that does not
mean we only "hang around" YMCA divers.

Q     How do I join the Aqua Amigos Scuba Club and are there different types of memberships available?
A     You can join the club by attending any meeting and petitioning for membership. If there are no objections and you
have paid your dues and initiation fee, you are in!
